A Comparative Study on the Mental Health of Employees Working in the Police Department

The objective of this research study was to conduct a comparative study on the mental health of employees working in the police department. The sample for this research study was selected based on the research objectives. In this study, male and female employees working in the Chhota Udepur district of the Vadodara range within the police department were chosen as the sample. Employees with a minimum of five years of work experience and those above 25 years of age were selected as the sample. The study included 103 female and 197 male employees. To measure mental health, a questionnaire developed by Dr. D. J. Bhatt and Dr. G. R. Gida was used. To compare the mental health of employees working in the police department, the ‘t’ test ratio was applied at the 0.05 significance level to test the validity of the means. The findings revealed a significant difference in mental health between male and female employees. It was observed that males exhibited better mental health compared to females.
Abstract in Gujarati Language: આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસનો હેતુ પોલીસ વિભાગમાં કામ કરતા કર્મચારીઓના માનસિક સ્વાસ્થ્યનો તુલનાત્મક અભ્યાસ કર્યો હતો. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં સંશોધન હેતુઓને ધ્યાનમાં રાખી નમૂનો પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં પોલીસ વિભાગમાં વડોદરા રેન્જના છોટા ઉદેપુર જિલ્લામાં કામ કરતી મહિલા અને પુરુષ કર્મચારીઓને નમૂના તરીકે પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં પાંચ વર્ષનો નોકરીનો અનુભવ પૂરો થયો હોય તેવા અને 25 વર્ષથી વધારે ઉંમર ધરાવતા કર્મચારીઓને નમૂના તરીકે પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં 103 મહિલાઓ અને 197 પુરુષ કર્મચારીઓને નમૂના તરીકે પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ સંશોધન અભ્યાસમાં માનસિક સ્વાસ્થ્યના માપન માટે ડૉ. ડી. જે. ભટ્ટ અને ડૉ. જી. આર. ગીડા દ્વારા રચિત પ્રશ્નાવલિનો ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. પોલીસ વિભાગમાં કામ કરતા કર્મચારીઓના માનસિક સ્વાસ્થ્યની તુલના કરવા માટે 0.05 કક્ષાએ ‘t’ ટેસ્ટ રેશિયો લાગુ પાડી મધ્યકોની સાર્થકતા ચકાસવામાં આવી હતી. જેનું તારણ આ પ્રમાણે જોવા મળ્યું હતું. પુરૂષો અને મહિલાઓના જૂથો વચ્ચે માનસિક સ્વાસ્થ્યમાં અર્થપૂર્ણ તફાવત જોવા મળ્યો હતો. જેમાં મહિલાઓ કરતાં પુરૂષો માનસિક સ્વાસ્થ્યમાં ચઢિયાતા જોવા મળ્યા હતા.
